Turale appointed to Northern Tasmania role

Futsal Tasmania is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Turale as Director of Coaching for Northern Tasmania. Nathan's role will encompass selections and coaching of national school and club teams. He will also be responsible for developing academies and relationships with schools in the area.

Nathan, a resident of Ulverstone, was introduced to futsal at the age of 14 , whilst a student at Reece High School. During his school days, he represented the Schoolboys Australian team which toured Brazil in 2009.

He then continued his playing career, which includes playing for and coaching Tasmanian teams at National Club Futsal Championships and National School Futsal Championships.

He was later employed by Northern Futsal Tasmania as a development officer and competitions administrator. He has continued his coaching career, and last year

coached an Australian team at the Montesilvano Cup in Italy (pictured, below). This year he has been appointed coach of the Australian Under 16 team to tour Brazil. His role with Futsal Tasmania is part-time, but works hand in hand with his role at Northern Tasmania Futsal.

State Administrator Romeo Frediani stated, "We are really pleased with Nathan's appointment as he brings a wealth of experience to the role, and is well know in the North and North West. We look forward to having him on board."

AFA CEO Alistair Miller said: "We are delighted to welcome Nathan on board and continue our development of futsal opportunities in Tasmania. It is fantastic to see another person who has moved through the full AFA pathway - from player, to coach and now a role which will help others to start their futsal journey."

Nathan begins his role on 1st August. If any schools, players or coaches wish to contact him in the meantime , please email him on northtasmania@australianfutsal.com.
